When you get in touch we will ask you what you need help with.  We will use the information to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.  You do not have to give a reason if you prefer not too.

If your condition is urgent we will try to see you or offer a telephone appointment on the same day.  You may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular doctor.

GP Additional Access Services

You can book an appointment with a GP, Nurse, or Health Care Practitioner in the evening or at the weekend when we are closed

You can book your appointment now by contacting us on 01706 396299.

Access Services are an extension of our usual service, it is not a walk-in service, and you will need to make an appointment through the practice reception. The service gives you more flexibility in where, when and how you use local health services. It helps those who struggle to get to the doctors during the week because of work and family commitments.

Please note that whilst you may not get to see your own doctor during these hours, and it may not be at your own practice location, the GP or Nurse you see will have access to your medical record, subject to your consent.

APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE:

Monday to Friday - Daytime & Evenings
Saturday and Sunday - Daytime
Bank Holidays – Daytime

APPOINTMENT TYPES:

Face to Face – You will see a clinician in person and be required to go to the service location

Telephone Consultation – You will be called by one of our clinicians during your appointment time. This will be from a withheld number and you will not be required to go to the service location unless offered at the time

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please cancel it as soon as possible.  You can cancel your appointment by:

  • cancelling it in the NHS app
  • reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder message
  • phone the surgery on 01706 396299

Appointment System

In addition to GPs we have a team of qualified clinicians including a practice nurse, paramedic, clinical pharmacist, mental health practitioner, first contact physiotherapist and social prescribing link worker. You may be offered an appointment with one of these if it is appropriate.

Remember to arrive in plenty of time for your appointment. If you are late you may not be seen and may have to rearrange the appointment.

Let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen. Each appointment lasts 10 minutes, and we can give you a second appointment if necessary.

Please tell us if you want someone to accompany you during an examination or a private room to discuss any matters.

If you need help with your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we will ask you what you need help with.  We will use this information to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or other health professional to help you.  We may offer you a consultation:

  • By phone
  • Face to face at the surgery
  • On a video call
  • By text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner

Please tell us:

  • If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond.  Please note it is not always possible for you to see the doctor of your choice especially if your appointment is booked at short notice.
  • If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • If you need an interpreter
  • If you have any other access or communication needs
